KOPAR ROTARY COOLER (KRC-series)

Kopar has recently launched a Kopar Rotary Cooler-series (KRC), representing the latest generation cooling technology. This new high-capacity and low wear technology brings significant cost savings and flexibility in lay-out design. 

With a completely new design of the cooling technology, it offers up to 30% more efficient cooling compared to the conventional equal size screw coolers. The KRC Series technology outperforms conventional screws coolers in terms of cooling efficiency while enabling higher process availability. Compared to an equivalent plant build using the conventional technology, total uptime can be increased by as much as 10-20 percent by minimizing the planned and unplanned times of production breaks. The KRC Series technology is specifically suitable for retrofitting conventional high wear screws or where the cooling capacity is a problem.

Cooling DRAG CHAIN CONVEYORS

Drag chain conveyors can be build with cooling sections. Often times cooling is added to drag chain conveyors in order to protect the conveyor frame and the conveyor chain from the extreme heat. Additionally the transported material also cools down. 

IIn the design and heat transfer calculations it is naturally considered the characteristics of the transported material in order to make sure there will not be problems with the dew points for example.

COOLING SCREW CONVEYORS

Conventional cooling screw conveyors still maintain a position in the Kopar range of cooling equipment. Especially when cooled capacities are small and the required drop of temperature is not so high, the traditional cooling screw conveyor with continuous flight might be the best choice.  

The traditional cooling screw conveyor can be used to cool almost any bulk material. Heat indirectly transfers from the product by means of cool water being inserted through a special trough jacket and/or through the shaft and hollow flights of the screw rotor.

Cooling DrumS

Cooling Drums are the most convenient choice of cooling when efficient cooling is needed for a large capacity but various KRC Rotary Coolers are not an option layout-wise. This can be the case especially in plant modernizations where available space is limited.  

Cooling drums allow continuous cooling instead of the usual batch method using cooling tables.

Full control is available of cooling, material thickness, and machine speed.
